An MDMA-Assisted
Psychotherapy Center
in Philadelphia

Who We Are

The SoundMind Center is a diverse group of psychotherapists and physicians who plan to offer MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in the City of Philadelphia, based on the MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) psychotherapy protocol, pending FDA approval.

Our aim is to serve people who represent populations who suffer from higher rates of PTSD than the general population, including people of color, people who identify as LGBTQ+, and those with cognitive diversity (such as autism and dyslexia). MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy has been deemed a ‘breakthrough therapy’ by the FDA as the studies thus far have shown that it may cause durable remission of treatment-resistant PTSD. If approved by the FDA, the Expanded Access period will likely last several years, and during this time the treatment will not be covered by insurance. So we will be working hard to raise funds and apply for grants so that out-of-pocket expenses will be minimal. Until the protocol is approved, all donations will be used to offset the substantial cost of training our team.

“It is essential for our
planetary future to
develop tools that can
change the consciousness
which has created
the crisis that we are in.”

Stanislav Grof

We are hoping to provide this innovative therapy in the Cedar Park area of Philadelphia, pending FDA approval of the Expanded Access Protocol. We are currently the only site in the city of Philadelphia hoping to offer this revolutionary therapy protocol. We aim to make this treatment as accessible as possible to those who need it most. We feel that Philadelphia is the perfect city to create a center that aims to treat marginalized populations, and envision a new way to address psychological wellbeing and build community. We have had an outpouring of support from our local community and from people throughout the city of Philadelphia; we can’t wait to see where this takes us!
